We are Pascal & Dianda. We’ve been together for 5.5 years now, and for the past two years our sweet dog Kaya has also been part of our little family. Pascal is 29 years old, and Dianda is 27. Together, we share one dream: exploring the world… by sailboat!
But how did it all begin?

Pascal ~ from Switzerland to Curaçao

Pascal was born in Switzerland, where he spent the first year of his life. When he was one year old, his parents moved back to the Netherlands. There he grew up as the big brother to a younger brother and sister. After about ten years in the Netherlands, the whole family moved to Curaçao. Pascal attended high school there, and it’s also where he was able to pursue his love for sailing and surfing.

After finishing school, he returned to the Netherlands to study, but soon discovered that it wasn’t for him. Through friends, he came into contact with seasonal work in Austria, and not long after, he headed there to work. And that’s when our paths crossed.

Dianda ~ from Drenthe to the mountains

Dianda was born in Hardenberg as the third child in the family. Later, she had a younger sister, so she has two older brothers and a younger sister. The family moved to Emmen in Drenthe, where she grew up surrounded by the megalithic tombs.

At the age of 20, she completed her training to become a caregiver in social care. Afterward, she worked in disability care, a job she truly enjoyed. Unfortunately, she was transferred to a different group where she didn’t feel as comfortable, which made her reflect on her career path.

The family had been going on vacation to the same place in Austria for years, and by then, Dianda had built good relationships there. She had previously been asked to work there, but at the time, it didn’t work out due to her age and qualifications. Now, the moment had come. Dianda decided to take the leap and moved to Austria. That’s where she met Pascal, and they worked together at the same company. One thing led to another.

Dreaming together ~ doing together

In total, we worked five seasons together in Austria and one season in the Netherlands. Not long after we started our relationship, we discovered that we both had big dreams. Pascal dreamed of sailing around the world. And Dianda also wanted to discover the world — she just didn’t know how yet.

One day, Pascal said honestly: “I’m going to make my sailing dream come true, with or without someone next to me. But if you want to come with me, that would be amazing.”
That really made Dianda think. Why not explore the world by boat?

By now, Dianda is just as excited as Pascal. Over the years, it has become our shared dream. We’ve worked incredibly hard — also financially — to get to where we are today.
And now, our adventure truly begins.
